After holiday sales are a great time to score some amazing deals on wintry delights. Now that the gift giving season is over and warmer weather is near, the stores are desperate to clear out their cold weather goods. Here are 5 things you can snag at an amazing price that will still be in season when the next winter rears its ugly head. We’ll also let you in on our favorite places to score the best bargains.

Cashmere Sweaters: Cashmere is expensive – because it’s awesomely soft, cozy and luxurious. But it also goes on major sale after the holidays because it doesn’t pack away well in storage for the stores. Look for sweaters in staple colors (red, navy, black, cream or camel) that are timeless (cable-knit, crew neck or a classic V-neck) and you’ll feel great about this score year after year. Cashmere socks and gloves are also a great bargain. A word of warning - once you go cashmere, you’ll never go back.

Find cashmere bargains at: Brooks Brothers, JCrew, Nordstrom, Theory

Riding Boots: Riding boots seem to be here to stay. Perhaps the leg lengthening look with a comfortable flat sole is as addicting to everyone else as it is to us! The key here is to buy very basic. Avoid embellishments, distressed looks or anything in an off color. Stick to chocolate brown or classic black. Start wearing these immediately so when next fall rolls around, they’ll be nice and broken in.

Pea Coat: This is a wardrobe staple. The pea coat is timeless and will never go out of style. Coats, above all else, are price-slashed heavily as spring nears. After all, they take up a ton of space in the store that’s needed for airy & flowy spring duds that are right around the corner. It’s crucial to buy a pea coat in a solid color without much detailing. Steer clear of trendy details like might fade like ruffles, belts, studs, & brightly colored buttons or linings. Black, navy or camel colors should be snatched right up!

Find pea coat bargains at: Lord and Taylor, T.J.Maxx, Ralph Lauren, Land’s End (seriously – trust us)

Corduroys: Cords paired with a cozy sweater and a scarf make a classic weekend outfit for the cold weather months. After holiday sales basically give away cords. Pick up a pair in blue and use them as an alternative to jeans.

Find corduroy bargains at: Gap, JCrew, Ann Taylor Loft

Cold Weather Accessories: Earmuffs, mittens and scarves – the way to jazz up any look while keeping you nice & toasty. We recommend you go for designer labels at the winter sales. Hit up the outlet mall and you’re sure to score a Burberry, Kate Spade or Coach piece at up to 80% off. Cold weather accessories are a very visible part of your daily look so to add a layer of sophistication to your look, buy quality pieces when they’re affordable.

Happy hunting, ladies! Remember, if it’s classic, a great deal and something you can see yourself wearing again next winter – pick it up! You’ll be thanking yourself next year.
